New Accessory Adds Full GPS To Your Wi-Fi Only iOS Device

May 3, 2011
Dual's XGPS150 Bluetooth GPS Receiver can add full GPS to your Wi-Fi only iOS device. The $99.99 product is ideal for Wi-Fi only iPad and iPod touch owners who want to use navigation apps that require GPS (like TomTom, Navigon and Co-Pilot Live). Simply connect the accessory to your iOS device via Bluetooth, and you should be good to go. Furthermore, a free application allows users of the accessory to see details on their location, the number of satellites available and the signal strength of each satellite. Potential customers should note that the XGPS150 will only work with iOS apps that store map data on your iDevice (such as those listed above). Unfortunately, apps that stream map data to users (such as iOS' Maps app) will still be unusable outside of a Wi-Fi network, as a cellular data network is required to download the data. For more information on Dual's XGPS150 Bluetooth GPS Receiver, head over to the New Sky Product's website (the accessory's retailer) and take a closer look. As mentioned, it's currently available to purchase for $99.99. [via TiPb]
