Topic #1 - Apple's iThing Nomenclature (internet, individual, instruct, inform, inspire) Topic #2 - iOS 5 - OTA Updates? Multiple sources say the new feature will debut in iOS 5, meaning iOS 5 will not come over-the-air but following point updates to it will. Just like tethering in iOS 3, Apple has the technology but cannot just unleash it everywhere. Apple and Verizon Wireless are said to have been in talks over these wireless software updates since early this year. Topic #3 - 3D iPads? “The fact that the iPad 3 is 3D is a dead cert,” one Hollywood insider close to the big movie studios told RCR, adding that the screen would be the real magic. She went on to say that the big film studios were currently running around like blue arsed flies trying to gear up to release plenty of 3D content in time for Apple’s next launch. Topic #4 - iOS 4.3.3 Is Out This update contains changes to the iOS crowd-sourced location database cache including: - Reduces the size of the cache - No longer backs the cache up to iTunes - Deletes the cache entirely when Location Services is turned off Topic #5 - No iPhone In June/July - What Are Your Expectations? Apple has informed us that they do not plan to release the iPhone in the June to July timeframe, though there will be a newer version in the future. Unfortunately, we have not been given a release time for the new phone. We will release this information on our website when it is available to us. Topic #6 - Promo Codes Redeemed Apps Cannot Review Apps (Cut Down On Inflations?) Anand here again from iTunes Store Customer Support. Thanks for writing back and letting me know your concern. I understand that you are still not able to write a review. I know how disappointing it can be when things don't work out the way they should. I am sorry to inform that it is no longer possible to rate or review an app if it was downloaded using a developer's promotional code. Topic #7 - Will Apple Revolutionize Audio? Apple has reportedly hired Tomlinson Holman as its new audio chief, according to a tweet by Leo Laporte Wednesday morning. Laporte said he had it "on good authority" that Holman "is joining Apple to run audio." Holman is the brain behind Lucasfilm's THX sound, and the world's first 10.2 surround sound system. Apple had yet to respond to a request for confirmation as of this writing. Topic #8 - Apps!
