The Chronic Dev Team has recently updated its fans on the status of a variety of different things, in a blog post entitled: "State of the Chronic." In the post, team member bile discusses the iPad 2 jailbreak efforts, greenpois0n support for iOS 4.3 and merchandise.
First, while Joshua Hill (@p0sixninja) has already confirmed that he's working hard on jailbreaking the iPad 2 (a solution for which could be released in "weeks"), the post affirms that the Chronic Dev Team is certainly moving in the right direction:
I’m not going to get into extensive detail about this, but what I will say one of the missing puzzle pieces may have reared its head and cast a glance in our direction… take from that what you will. The second generation iPad has proved to be a difficult device to jailbreak, mainly because of its new hardware elements (i.e., the dual-core Apple A5 processor). However, it would appear that the Chronic Dev Team is getting very close to developing a full jailbreak solution. Second, the blog post mentions greenpois0n support for iOS 4.3. Namely, the Chronic Dev Team will be able to "easily update" the jailbreak tool (adding support for iOS 4.3) soon:
In the past I have also said that 4.3.x support was on hold for greenpois0n to focus on iPad 2 jailbreak exclusively, our course has slightly changed (primary focus has never shifted from iPad 2 since it was released) it has now become possible to easily update and execute a workflow to enable RC6.2 (tentatively speaking… mmm #dirt) to be released “soon”…And third, the Chronic Dev Team has moved into the world of fashion: A variety of t-shirts and sweaters bearing greenpois0n's logo will soon be available to purchase online.
