The recently released "multi-camera video production app," CollabraCam ($5.99), has recently been updated. Now, the application is universal - meaning it can run natively on all of Apple's iOS devices, including the original iPad and the iPad 2.
Importantly, owners of the original iPad should be reminded that, because their device does not have a camera, it can only be used to "direct" a project. However, the iPad 2 can act as a camera and also be used to direct, thanks to its front facing and rear facing cameras.
If you're not familiar with the app itself, here's a quick description, provided by CollabraCam's developer in the application's release notes:
CollabraCam provides a quick, easy and fun way to engage in multi-camera video production with your family, friends and colleagues. CollabraCam's patent pending technology eliminates the need for thousands of dollars worth of equipment, wires and expensive software with a simple, yet powerful, live video editing workflow previously only available to professionals. You and your crew will produce exciting, dynamic videos with minimal post-production. As the director you are in charge. Enter a title and optional copyright for automatically generated credits. Wirelessly connect with up to four iPhone, iPod Touch or iPad camera operators who also have CollabraCam over local Wi-Fi. Monitor the live-streaming cameras and choose the best shots to edit your video in real-time. Select a camera to put on standby to prepare for the next shot. Silently direct your camera operators to pan a shot, dolly in for a close-up and more. And now the app has been updated, even more Apple fans can join in on the fun. Currently, CollabraCam is available to download for $5.99 in the App Store. Check it out, and let us know your thoughts in the comments.
