As outlined in the app's release notes, new features include:
Interestingly, Disco is actually owned by Google (it's developed by the Google-owned Slide, Inc.). However, as TechCrunch notes, Google itself hasn't promoted either version of the app (1.0 or 2.0) on any of its blogs - which is curious. Regardless, the app itself works great - and is definitely worth considering if you're looking for a group messaging application. Major features (again, listed in the app's release notes) of Disco include:
- Chat in the app over the network in addition to using SMS
- Receive texts using Push Notifications
- Integrated group management and account settings
Currently, Disco Messenger is available to download for free in the App Store. Check out the latest version (2.0), and let us know your thoughts in the comments.
