ECS' Padfone-Like Product Can Turn Your iPhone Into An iPad

While this product isn't exactly like the recently announced ASUS Padfone, ECS' prototype tablet (which was demoed at Computex) looks kind of similar. Essentially, the "tablet" is a 9.7 inch touch screen with a slot for the iPhone, or any other compatible smart phone (there are a few others). Once "docked," iPhone owners connect their handset to the touch screen via HDMI, and interact with the smart phone on the big (well, bigger) screen.
Besides an HDMI input, ECS' device also features a font facing camera, two USB ports and an SD card slot. Apparently, the product will be compatible with Windows Phone 7 and Android smart phones, along with the iPhone. As mentioned, the size of the device's screen is 9.7 inches (the same size as the iPad's screen), and the screen ratio is 4:3 (also the same as the iPad's screen).
Furthermore, ECS' product will reportedly be compatible with future smart phones (like the iPhone 5), via "simple upgrades."
You can expect the tablet-of-sorts to hit the market in Q4, 2o11, and the product should retail at $200 or under. Let us know if you're impressed in the comments.
