IntelliVocab For SAT Released

May 23, 2011
If you are a current high school student, teacher, parent, or tutor -- and want to prepare yourself (or your student) for an SAT exam, check out IntelliVocab for SAT. This new app has been released for free with vocabulary training geared toward this important exam. IntelliVocab for SAT has been designed by MIT students using their computer science and Web semantics labs. The learning approach is based on interaction, rather than just on memorization practice based on lots of repetition. According to the developers, "It uses latest machine learning algorithms and web semantic techniques to collapse billions of possibilities into comprehensible probabilistic profile information, in real-time. It completely controls the learning environment making you free from the trouble of forming your own learning approach." There are two levels of expertise (used as parameters for testing) that profile the user differently. The "Expert Level" profiles the user based on interaction with words, and the "Commitment Level" profiles the user based on the interaction with the iDevice they are using. You may recall, IntelliVocab for GRE and GMAT offered a lot of great features as a way to prepare students for the GRE and GMAT exams. The app also did this through MIT-based testing methods focusing on vocabulary words that are common on those tests. Now students preparing for the SAT can get the same benefits. IntelliVocab for SAT should provide a great way for students to stay sharp with new vocabulary words and prepare them for their SAT exams. You can get IntelliVocab for SAT on the app store for free.
