More Leaks Surface On This Weekend's Apple Mystery

May 21, 2011
Many rumors have exploded across the Internet regarding what Apple is up to this weekend. More information is beginning to surface and it is looking like the Apple Store and the current Apple Store iOS app may experience a makeover. No one knows exactly what will happen until the launch, but the anticipation and expectation as another episode of Apple Mystery Theater unfolds sure is exciting! One of the enhancements expected is in the iOS app, and includes a build-to-order Mac purchasing option. This will allow end-users to customize their hardware options. Currently, the app only includes stock configurations within the available models. The new online store launch is set for this Sunday, May 22, 2011, after the mandatory employee meeting in the morning. I spoke with a gal who works at a local Apple Store and she mentioned having to sign a non-disclosure statement and she is required to attend the big Sunday meeting. Employee vacation time is also limited over these next few days. Several employees at each store will work overnight shifts on Saturday into Sunday to prepare for this retail launch. It is also believed the Apple Store will provide iPads for their retail specialists. These will replace the current iPod touch EasyPay terminals. The anticipated in-house software RetailMe may potentially provide a great customer experience as Apple Specialists can show potential buyers images and features of the products they are interested in on the brilliant iPad screen. We are not 100 percent sure of what the entire mystery event entails this weekend. As usual, it will be exciting to see what else Apple has up its sleeve. What do you think will be included in this weekend’s launch? Please leave a comment below!
