New Video Highlights How Improved Multitasking Could Launch In iOS 5

May 23, 2011
A new concept video has hit the Web, which outlines an interesting way Apple could improve multitasking in iOS 5. As you can see in the video (which we've embedded below), the idea involves users holding the iPhone's Home button, and then swiping left or right to "fast app switch." Furthermore, if you swipe up or down, the open app will be removed from the fast-app-switcher. The video also notes that this could also be achieved through a modified multitasking tray. The concept involves a "reminder bar," which looks a lot like the switcher bar in Mac OS X (you can access this by holding down command and tab). It's definitely an interesting concept, and something we'd love to see Apple introduce in iOS 5. Currently, multitasking works well enough, but a more refined service would undoubtedly be appreciated. Here's the video, and be sure to let us know your thoughts in the comments.
