First App To Use Smart Cover Technology Now Available For iPad
June 8, 2011
The iPad 2 is even better with Apple’s line of Smart Covers. Now, the world’s first app for use with those covers has come to the App Store courtesy of Evernote.
The free Evernote Peek app was just released. Its use is as a study guide that is tied directly to an existing Evernote account.
Take a look at this video:
Creating your own study notebooks is easy.
First, make sure you have a free Evernote account. This can be added either through the Evernote website or free universal app by the same name.
In Evernote, either choose an existing notebook or make a new one to use with Peek. The note title will become the clue and the note body will become the answer.
For best results, it is recommended to keep the clue to one sentence and the answer to around three sentences.
In Evernote Peek, tap the Add button to add your Evernote notebooks.
The app includes two sample puzzles,“How to use Evernote Peek” and “Sushi Quiz.” Others may be added from within the app, including “Periodic Table Quiz,” “Econ 101,” “Word Quiz,” and others.
Smart Covers arrived on the scene earlier this year along with the iPad 2. They allow users to cover the front of their iDevice using a series of magnets. When the cover is opened, the iPad awakes. Conversely, when the cover is closed, the iPad 2 falls asleep.
While Evernote is the first to produce an app that interacts with the Covers, it certainly won't be the last.
