Apple Planning On Adding A Panorama Feature To Camera App?

June 9, 2011
A recently uncovered piece of iOS 5 code suggests that Apple is planning on adding a "panorama" feature to the Camera app. While a variety of third-party apps offer users the ability to create panoramic images, Apple's built-in Camera application currently doesn't boast such a feature. However, the aforementioned code - which is displayed in the above screenshot - very clearly references a panorama feature. Apple also made several other improvements to the Camera app in iOS 5, including adding gridlines and the ability to shoot an image by pressing the volume-up button. Undoubtedly, the ability to natively shoot panoramic images using the iPhone's Camera app is something users will appreciate.
