Google has just launched "homepage shortcuts," a new feature that allows users to easily locate nearby attractions in Google Mobile, via Safari for iOS.
As you can see in the above image, the Google Mobile webpage now displays four shortcuts underneath the search bar: "Restaurants," "Coffee," "Bars" and "More." Touching one of these shortcuts allows users to easily discover nearby attractions. For example, touching "Coffee" searches for coffee houses near you (provided you've granted Google access to your current location), and displays them in a map, on another webpage.
Touching this map then opens up the built-in Maps app, and displays the location of said coffee houses. It's a handy feature, and something Apple fans will undoubtedly appreciate.
Google's "homepage shortcuts" are now live in Safari for iOS (the feature is available on Android smart phones, too). Simply head over to http://google.com on your mobile device to check out the new feature. And if you do, be sure to let us know your thoughts in the comments.
