Jailbreak Only: Wi-Fi Booster - Remove Signal Limitation In Settings App

June 20, 2011
Interestingly, in order to create a positive Web experience, the Settings app (in Apple's iOS) doesn't actually display every available Wi-Fi network. Instead, only wireless networks that boast decent signal strength are shown. While this is handy for some, others might feel that it's a limitation. Fortunately for us all, a jailbreak tweak called "Wi-Fi Booster" can help. Once installed, Wi-Fi Booster ($1.99) removes this "signal limitation," and shows available wireless networks along with their signal strength and MAC address, as you can see in the above screenshot. If you're continually hooking up to Wi-Fi networks while out and about (or, if you own an iPod touch) this jailbreak tweak may be just what you need. Wi-Fi Booster integrates within the Settings app, and no new icon is added to your Home screen. Currently, Wi-Fi Booster is available to download in the Cydia Store (via the BigBoss Repository) for $1.99. Check it out, and let us know your thoughts in the comments.
