Help Yourself And Others Reach The Pearly Gates By Farming Souls In Ghost Harvest
June 17, 2011
Electronics Arts' low-priced games subsidiary, 8lb Gorilla, has released its own zombie-esque social simulation game to the App Store earlier today. Ghost Harvest has you helping souls reach the Pearly Gates to earn your own karma, and a little bit of money.
Part of the real-time social-networking farming simulation sub-genre, Ghost Harvest places you as the successor to managing the local cemetery, where you help guide the deceased to a wonderful afterlife. Slowly increase your profits and karma earnings by leveling up to add more grave plots and decorate the place up a bit. Just because it's a cemetery doesn't mean it needs to be dull, right?
Unfortunately, the local townsfolk are becoming a threat to your ingenious business. Reporters and those intrigued by paranormal activity intend to find out the details of your activities, and that would destroy all of your efforts. Using some quick thinking, you enlist scary souls that will help defend and otherwise protect the afterlife secrets.
In the top-left is the defense indicator and where the defend mini-game start button will appear when necessary. At the top-right is the Missions list access, which includes a dozen objectives like harvesting a certain number of a specific type of soul and doing a little beautification. The Store is at the bottom-right, used to plant more souls and add items, and the redesign button is directly above that.
Ghost Harvest is designed for iPhone and iPod touch running iOS 3.1.3 or later, and available in the App Store now as a free download.
