Step Up To The Plate And Take On Red Sox Ace Jon Lester In A New Free To Play iOS Game
June 3, 2011
Today, we have a treat for baseball fans, especially those of the Red Sox. Jon Lester Hardball Ace is a tribute to acclaimed pitcher Jon Lester.
Players must bat against Lester in an attempt to make as many runs as possible. Jon Lester Hardball Ace provides both practice and league modes, where a player can choose to be identified as a Rookie, a Minor league batter, or even a Major Leaguer. Lester will be throwing out nearly every pitch in the book to strike you out, and you must find a way to combat his fastballs, sliders, and more to make anything from an infield single to an all-out home run. There's even an occasional taunt by Jon to keep you on your toes.
Practice play offers hints to the different pitches, plus the simple ability of just trying to hit these dastardly speeders. League play provides a chance to win real prizes by earning Ace Points. As far as earning Ace Points goes, Rookie difficulty allows players to earn higher points for singles, but is very limiting when it comes to big plays. On the other hand, Major League difficulty gives a smaller chunk for singles, however, doubles and home runs make for very satisfying rewards.
Amongst the three difficulty levels and gameplay mode, players can choose right or left handed batters, music volume, and the number of innings: 1, 3, 6, or 9. Because you're the only person batting, there is no top and bottom to innings, though each inning is the typical three outs and reset of on-base runners.
Jon Lester Hardball Ace Free is a universal app compatible with iPad, iPhone, and iPod touch running iOS 3.0 or later, and is available in the App Store as a no cost download.
