Traces Of iPad 3 Found in iOS 5, Suggests "World-Mode" iPad

According to a recent article, traces of the third generation iPad have been found in iOS 5. However, instead of three separate iPad models (Wi-Fi only, GSM and CDMA), only two iPad 3 models are referenced in the first beta version of iOS 5, hinting at a "world-mode" iPad 3.
While references to a fifth generation iPhone were already present in iOS 4.3, iOS 5 mentions "iPad 3,1" and "iPad 3,2."
As we already know, the iPad 2 exists in three versions, and in the iOS they are referenced accordingly: "iPad 2,1" (Wi-Fi only), "iPad 2,2" (GSM) and "iPad 2,3" (CDMA). However, the fact that iOS 5 references only two iPad 3 models suggests that the third generation iPad will be available in a "world-mode" version, which will retail alongside the Wi-Fi only model.
This would certainly make sense. Currently, in North America Apple's iPhone and iPad exist in GSM and CDMA versions. For iPhone owners, this is especially annoying due to the fact that the CDMA iPhone still isn't compatible with any version of iOS 4.3. (This means CDMA iPhone owners cannot currently take advantage of "iTunes in the cloud.")
For this reason, we're hoping Apple releases "universally compatible" next generation iOS devices.
We'll keep you posted.
