Atlantis, The Final Space Shuttle, Launches Today

When I was a kid, I honestly thought that we would be freely traveling in and colonizing outer space by now. Today, it doesn't look like that sort of thing will be happening in our lifetimes. For those of us that grew up pre-Challenger, the era when anything seemed possible, today is a bittersweet day. The final space shuttle, Atlantis, is being launched from Cape Canaveral, FL, at 11:26 EDT (weather permitting). After 30 years, this particular space program is shutting down. You can follow the news of this historical moment on NASA's website, of course, but those of us with iDevices like to use apps instead.
