Cosmo For Guys iPad Application To Hit App Store This August

July 12, 2011
Good news, guys: This August, a digital edition of Cosmopolitan aimed at men will hit the iPad App Store, and will be called "CFG" ("Cosmo for Guys"). While the magazine's subscription cost hasn't yet been announced, Cosmopolitan's editor has shared some information on what "guys" can expect from the publication. As originally reported by Jeremy M. Peters of Media Decoder:
The “All About Women” feature is a quiz that puts men in hypothetical situations, hoping to guide them to the right way to impress their date. She has something in her teeth. Should you tell her? Evidently yes. She comes back to the table after 10 minutes in the bathroom. Should you ask about it? Absolutely not. When do you text her after the date to let her know you had a good time? Immediately. Looking for suggestions on what kinds of sexual activities women in your geographical area prefer? Yes, there’s an app for that. Cosmo for Guys culls responses from questionnaires on Cosmopolitan.com and feeds them through Google Maps based on where a woman has written her response.
The editor of Cosmopolitan, Kate White, also shared some information regarding the girls' magazine's readership: Unsurprisingly, she gets a lot of emails from guys who read Cosmo, namely because they feel as if the magazine is "the opposite team's playbook." Does that mean CFG will steal any male readers away from Cosmopolitan? Probably not, but at least their girlfriends will have something interesting to read, too. We'll keep you posted on the status of CFG and in the meantime, let us know if you'll likely take a look at this magazine in the comments.
