Marathon Storms Into The App Store: Play Bungie's Classic Game On Your iPad

Great news, retro gaming fans: The popular Bungie-developed Mac game Marathon is now available in the App Store. The application is natively compatible with the iPad, and is available to download for free.
The game itself was originally released on the Macintosh back in 1994, before Bungie was acquired by Microsoft and left Mac development behind. Back then, Marathon was a Mac exclusive, which was good news (Doom had recently launched on the PC, and Mac-heads needed something to rapidly click mouses and keyboard keys at).
While Marathon for the iPad is free to download, two in-app purchases can enhance the gaming experience. The first, "HD Mode" ($3.99), adds high resolution graphics to the game. And the second, "Master Chief Mode" ($0.99), allows players to jump into the game at any level, armed with "infinite ammo, all weapons, instant recharge, invulnerability and instant save," as noted by MacRumors.
