Photo Filter App FX Photo Studio Gets A Big Update
July 18, 2011
Do you like to apply filters and effects to your photos? If you don’t already have FX Photo Studio, you may want to check it out now. They’ve just released a major update with tons of new features. You can read our original review here to see what this app is all about.
But what’s new? First and foremost, they’ve added masking. This means that you can apply FX Photo Studio’s many effects to just PART of each photo. You can see that I have done this in the photo above, where I started with a purple flower and painted half of it with the "Invert Image" effect. Choose your effect, adjust the amount of effect, and and simply paint it where you’d like. Selective colorization, background blur, if you can dream it up, you can do it now.
They have also added 7 new effects, bringing the total up to 194! The new ones include more cross-processing effects and a faux 3D effect.
As always, you can save photos, email them, or share on Facebook, Twitter, and Flickr. But with the update, you can now print photos directly from the app, or share on powerhouse photo-sharing app Instagram. And, a future update will allow users to order prints that will be delivered to you in the mail, anywhere in the world.
Other new features include square cropping (perfect for Instagram), an all-new user interface, improved in-app camera, more control over Tilt Shift, Radial Blur, gamma, saturation, hue, and more. FX Photo Studio is a worthwhile addition to any iphoneographer's collection.
