Powerful Portraits Of World Leaders Hit App Store In POWER Platon

July 7, 2011
A new iPad application offers users a series of portraits of world leaders, all of which were shot by noted photographer Platon at the United Nations over the past year. The app, POWER Platon, is available for $9.99 and features over 100 images in total, along with an introduction by David Remnick (of The New Yorker). The application is designed to give users a unique insight into the world's Heads of State. Besides a series of portraits, POWER Platon also features bios for each leader, and audio commentaries for certain images which explain the process of the shoot. Furthermore, the app features a world map index. As outlined in the application's release notes:
In his most recent multimedia endeavor, noted photographer Platon introduces POWER—an unprecedented collection of portraits featuring over one hundred of today’s most compelling and influential political figures. Compiled over a twelve-month period at the United Nations Headquarters in New York City, POWER offers a strikingly intimate look at the presidents, prime ministers, dictators, and revolutionaries who define our contemporary global community.
As mentioned, the application is currently available to download for $9.99, and is natively compatible with the iPad. Take a look at POWER Platon, and let us know your thoughts in the comments. [via Gizmodo]
