Easily Take Notes With Note Record
Note Record ($0.99) by Tobias works for any time you need to jot something down before you forget it.
Let’s say you need to go grocery shopping. Hit the + button and type your shopping list. Perhaps your wife prefers a specific brand of shampoo. She’s not sure what it’s called, but it’s the green one with the orange cap. Take a picture of the empty bottle before you leave and add it to your list so you know exactly which one you’ll need. Perhaps once you’ve left for the store, your wife calls to remind you that you’ll also need to pick up some kitty litter. Sure, you could type litter at the next red light, or you could add a voice memo.
Items such as photos, memos, or videos will appear as thumbnails in a gray bar beneath the note. Arrows on each side navigate to your other notes.
Making a grocery list is just one example, but there are certainly plenty of other ways to integrate this app into your daily lifestyle: writing, studying, planning, etc.
While Evernote provides the same features (if not more), I still prefer Note Record. There’s no need to create an account, the interface is insanely straightforward, and the option for exporting as text or email is available. I mean, it’s a note taking app. How many bells and whistles do you really need?
I will issue a word of caution, though. The app crashed every time I tried opening it after the first time. Force quitting it and restarting my iDevice (in this case, my iPad) did nothing. I deleted and reinstalled, and that seemed to do the trick. However, given all that, I would still recommend this app.
If your short-term memory is anything like mine, you’ll need it.
