Set An Email For Future Delivery With Set And Forget
Set & Forget ($0.99) by Oz makes belated birthday wishes a thing of the past.
The idea is simple enough; compose an email you’d like to send at a future date and set what day you’d like it delivered. Once the designated time arrives, you’ll receive a push notification that your email is ready. The app opens and then you can send the email on its punctual, merry way. Messages can also be sent via SMS for iPhone users.
This app’s functionality is a boon for anyone guilty of forgetting special events.
When creating the message, you can choose the send time by either manually selecting it, or for the purpose of birthdays, attaching the app to your Facebook account. Repeat reminders are also available on a daily, weekly, monthly, or yearly basis.
I found importing Facebook birthdays to be an easy process. The only hiccup I encountered was how many of my friends didn’t list their birthdays. Templates for birthdays, congratulations, and appointments are available for composing your messages. The templates tend to be sappy and long-winded, but thankfully you can modify them or create your own message and then save a custom template.
Granted, this app isn’t the only game in town when it comes to sending messages at a future time. This ability is available with Outlook, as well as online sites, or tweaks with web-based email. Obviously, Facebook itself lists all of your friends’ birthdays.
However, just because Facebook has your friends’ birthdays listed, doesn’t mean you’ll remember to look at them in time.
This app is definitely handy and has applications beyond just birthday reminders (ie. appointment messages).
