Jersey GTL ($0.99) by MEDL MOBILE looks like a “Jersey Shore” game for the classic NES console.

You play a character who could be a stand in for Mike “The Situation” Torrentino. After a brief bit of fist pumping, you run down a New Jersey boardwalk in this side scroller, looking to score as many points as you can. Gameplay couldn’t be simpler.

You constantly run, your only controls being up and down. Watch out for "bros," your boss, and “grenades” (the ugly girl in a group of girls; a guy will have to “fall on a grenade” for his friends to get the prettier girls). Run into the cute girls, pizza, beer, or gold chains to earn points.

How does “GTL” fit into it all? Store fronts will scroll past at the top of the screen, and three particular ones will help you. Go to the gym to become invincible against the bros, boss, and grenades. Drop in at the tanning salon to refresh your complexion meter (going pale ends the party). Finally, wash a load at the laundromat to score even more points.

While the graphics, music, and sound effects make the game fun to play at first, the appeal only lasts for so long. Keep an eye on the App Store for a free copy.

In the end, this app is a one-line joke with a weak punchline.
