BeeWorks Brings Some Of The Nintendo DS Action To The iPhone With Touch Detective
August 5, 2011
Those who are veteran mobile gamers may recognize the name in an instant. But whether you're a DS fan or not, Touch Detective should feel just as at home on an iPhone or iPod touch as it does on the touch screen Nintendo device.
The iOS version is extremely similar to the original. This point and click, or shall I say point and touch, adventure stars Mackenzie, a young girl who loves to investigate things. Move around the environments by touching locations and objects to collect items and solve the mysteries.
Touch Detective for iOS includes the same four episodes, also referred to as chapters, of the original. Touch Detective is sold as a single purchase or on a somewhat per chapter basis. Users get chapter one and the first half of chapter two for free. The second half of chapter two through the first half of chapter three, the second half of chapter three through the first half of chapter four, and the second half of chapter four plus the bonus cost $3.99 each.
However, BeeWorks Games provides a package offering for those who are confident they shall enjoy it. Forking over $8.99 will supply all four chapters and Funghi Breaks Out!, the bonus chapter. The $9 price tag is a little high in the iOS game market -- not the most expensive -- but because you can try the first episode-and-a-half for nothing but the risk of lost time, it should be enough to tell if Touch Detective is your type of game.
Touch Detective is designed for iPhone and iPod touch running iOS 3.0 or later, and available in the App Store as a free download.
