Cover Orange Breaks The Five Million Downloads Barrier While Holding A Perfect Rating

Cover Orange Breaks The Five Million Downloads Barrier While Holding A Perfect Rating

August 11, 2011
A team effort by FDG Entertainment and the original game's developer, "Johnny-K," the iOS version of Cover Orange hit the App Store December 2010. This month, the game reached a milestone and we'd like to share some details about it with you, our wonderful readers and avid gamers. Foremost, FDG has reported that the iPhone and iPod touch version surpassed five million total downloads. I will be fair in admitting that the game has been discounted to free a couple of times in the past eight months, including for a short period earlier this month. Nevertheless, it is a something to be very proud of. Such a success is cause for a celebration, but the company has another triumph to announce, and maybe more important than the last. The game has received more than 53,800 ratings worldwide in its iOS lifetime, where over 46,700 of those were a 5-star rating. As of this post, the United States App Store is reporting a 5-star rating for all versions from a total of 16,667 ratings and a 5-star rating for the current version from a total of 6,845 ratings. Of course, most other regions share the same perfect rating for Cover Orange as the U.S. It isn't just the iPhone version that is doing well. Cover Orange HD for iPad has a 5-star rating from over 4,000 ratings and Cover Orange for Mac has a 5-star rating from more than 20 ratings left by U.S. customers. For those unaware, Cover Orange is a physics puzzler where you must protect all of the oranges from the devastating toxic rain of the evil storm cloud. As each item is offered at the top of the screen, drag it into the position you think it should go, then release to drop it. Remember, this is a physics puzzler, therefore, items will bounce and roll when colliding with other objects. Cover Orange and Cover Orange HD v1.7 provided: • A new "Helmet" feature to prevent getting stuck in hard levels - 3 free helmets included - 5 more helmets available for $.99 - 15 more helmets available for $1.99 • 20 new levels • New Game Center achievements Cover Orange is designed for iPhone and iPod touch running iOS 3.1.2 or later, and available in the App Store for $.99. Cover Orange HD is compatible with iPad running iOS 3.2 or later, and available in the App Store for $1.99. Game Center features require iOS 4.1 or later. Cover Orange for Mac is compatible with an Apple computer running Mac OS 10.6 or later, and available in the Mac App Store for $4.99.
