Create Wonderful Collages Using The New Composite App For iPad 2

Being inspired by Robert Rauschenberg's artwork, James Alliban came up with an idea for a neat composition art creation app. However, his idea couldn't quite flourish with the technology at the time. The concept required the powerful capabilities and camera of today's touchscreen smartphones, but he felt the screen on such a device was too small. With the release of the iPad 2 this past spring, Composite has now spawned into existence.
What is Composite? It's an app that allows artistic minds to create masterpieces, even if they don't have exceptional brush handling skills. Composite uses the iPad 2's camera to assist in capturing imagery right before the artist's eyes. Using the simple stroke of your finger, paint selective elements that your iDevice camera sees effortlessly onto the digital canvas. Overlap, mesh, blur, and otherwise combine items to make an intriguing piece of artwork.
The app offers a number of different options and adjustments for merging these objects to help provide whatever feel you're going for. Down the left side are sliders for edge blur intensity, brush size, and opacity, along with buttons for undo and redo. Across the top are buttons for settings, image import, save to camera roll, share via social networks or email, switch camera, clear canvas, and show or hide the camera video feed.
In the settings area are the options for brush type, a button to enable brush size according to stroke speed, a button to enable video capture pausing while using the brush, plus sliders for red, green, blue, contrast, and brightness levels.
Composite is compatible with iPad 2 running iOS 4.0 or later, and available in the App Store for $1.99.
