Go Nuts On Your iPad With The Universal Version Of Limbic's Endless Climbing Game
August 24, 2011
Exactly three months after Nuts launched for the iPhone and iPod touch, Limbic Software, creators of the hit tower defense game TowerMadness, officially invited their lovable tree climber to the iPad through a universal iOS app.
Nuts spotlights the adorable Jake, a squirrel who will stop at nothing to reach the top of the Infinitree. Unfortunately, Jake will never reach the promised goodness at the top, however, he will have the chance to acquire fireball acorns, additional hearts, and coins with his valiant efforts to reach this claimed better place in the treetops.
In this endless climbing title, you must help Jake avoid clobbering tree branches and collecting coins by tilting your iDevice as he scurries up the tree. Jake is fairly resilient, as he has the ability to withstand a few run-ins before knocking himself out. Each branch collision will take away a heart, which you can monitor in the top-right.
A complete understanding of how will likely remain a mystery forever, but Jake has this ability to eat certain acorns and become an invincible ball of fire. Run over one of these flaming acorns and Jake will briefly become this speedy burst of flames, allowing him to bash through at least a few limbs without harm.
You may be happy to hear that coins can come in handy for much more than just a point indicator. Once your stash of coins gets to be a few hundred, head on over to the Store. In the Store, coins allow for very useful upgrades on fireball acorns, the addition of a shield, and can even add additional heart slots. Most upgrades begin at 100 coins, and each subsequent upgrade is a notably increased cost.
Nuts! is a universal app compatible with iPad, iPad 2, iPhone 3GS, iPhone 4, 32GB and 64GB third generation iPod touch, fourth generation iPod touch and newer running iOS 4.0 or later, and available in the App Store now for just $.99.
