Paint FX Update Adds High Resolution Photo Support

Back in June, I tested and reviewed Paint FX, one of many photo editing apps available for the iPhone. While I liked Paint FX for the fun and unique feature that allowed users to paint effects on with a finger, I was highly disappointed with the low resolution format that photos were saved in, which made them all but useless for anything but Facebook uploading. I’m happy to report that Paint FX has received a major update, allowing users to save photos at a higher resolution, among other things. Here’s a full list of the included updates:

• High resolution (four megapixel) image editing
• iPad support and bug fixes
• An eightfold performance boost on processing of most effects

When I wrote the review in June, I noted that Paint FX was not worth the price. As of now, Paint FX is available for just $0.99, a price point that makes it a great addition to any iPhone user’s arsenal of photo editing apps.
