Be Prepared To Be Amazed By How Great iDevice Visuals Can Look In Angry Bots
Angry Bots (Free) by Unity Technologies is a short third person shooter.
It appears to be a technical demonstration of a software developer’s kit called Unity. There are no menus, options, or any in-app help. There is certainly no attempt at a storyline of any kind.
You simply go into the game and are expected to guess what to do, which isn’t exactly hard.
There are just two controls. On the bottom right is the aiming/shooting joystick. Just move it in the direction you want to shoot. On the bottom left is the movement joystick which seems to play no part in aiming your character’s gun.
The aim is simple -- walk around and shoot any robots you come across before they shoot or blow you up first.
The graphics are sharp and crisp. The really impressive thing is the lighting. There are golden hues and clear reflections just about everywhere, it’s really wonderful to see.
Unity and its graphics engine have been in development since 2001. They aim to make highly detailed 3D programming accessible to everyone.
This game is not much of a game, but what it does have has been done well. To see what’s possible on mobile devices, I strongly recommend you check it out.
