Ready The Rampart To Deal With The Incoming Fleet In CityDefense

CityDefense ($0.99) by China.U Network Technology DevelopmentCo., Ltd. is a tower defense game wherein you must defend the shores of a city from an incoming naval fleet of ships. This is one of the least impressive games I have seen in a long time.

When you finally figure out that the “Points” tab actually refers to a map with various points of defense, you will be able to choose a map to play on. I say a map but really it’s just a badly drawn static arena.

The game starts off with a simplistic dock on the left of the screen which has five slots that allow you to build your guns. From the right, ships will start to trickle in which your guns naturally start shooting at.

Initially, you can only afford two guns. Gold coins will drop which allow placement of more guns which is good because those first two guns are quickly overwhelmed. Don’t expect miracles though, gold coins drop slowly and you will have to rely heavily on your upgrades to survive.

There are a plethora of upgrades and weapons to choose from. The upgrades cost a very small amount of currency and are actually quite useful. They allow your weapons to be repaired rapidly or can have some controlling effect on the incoming enemy ships such as slowing them down or mitigating all damage for a short while.

New weapons can only be purchased as you reach a high enough level and as long as you have enough gold to afford them.

I try to find the good in all the apps I play, but I found this one very boring. The thought of playing through the large number of levels available is very painful indeed. It started off as a free game, but with that offer gone you might not consider it worth a try.
