If you love hearing a new band for the first time, consider downloading Band Of The Day. This free iPhone app (which does require a subscription) presents users with a new band each and every day of the year, and includes reviews, interviews and more information on the current "band of the day."
You can also listen to tracks from within the application, and make a mix-tape using your favorite "band of the day" articles. In total, over 1,500 songs are available each year within Band Of The Day - the app's developer claims that this is "the best designed music experience you have ever seen."
The application features the usual sharing options, and you can participate in choosing future bands of the day by sending out a hashtagged tweet.
Fortunately, the subscription fees aren't too expensive - though they may put some people off. To use the application following its week's free trial, users will have to pay either $0.99 per month, or $9.99 per year (via an in-app subscription). However, for this users get access to all the app's features and its music, too.
