Camera+ After Effects - It's Not Bad, Just Flawed

A new universal iOS application called "Camera+ After Effects" allows users to apply a series of different effects to images shot on an iPhone, iPod touch or iPad. While the app looks promising, we are sad to report that there are a few issues with the $0.99 application.
First, let's talk about some of the app's better features. Once downloaded, users can apply different effects to an image saved on an iOS device, or to a new image shot from the Camera application. Included in the app are a variety of different filters and frames, which users can add to their chosen image. It's also possible to check out how the edited image will look as a Lock screen or Home screen background quickly and easily, which is handy.
However, this is as far as it goes: It's not possible to edit photos in-depth using Camera+ After Effects, and it's not even possible to pinch-and-zoom in the application, either. Considering the app costs $0.99, we must note that there are a variety of other applications available in the App Store that do a better job for the same price (or less!).
In short, Camera+ After Effects looks to be a promising app, though we can't recommend it yet. Instead, wait for the developer to push out a few updates (which will expand the app's functionality, we hope), and then check back with us for our verdict.
