Facebook App Get Major Update, But Still Not For iPad

September 6, 2011
Facebook has just released an update to its popular iPhone/iPod touch app. Unfortunately, the update still does not include iPad compatibility. Version 3.5 of the Facebook app includes a number of tools that make it easier to share items with your friends. These features include the ability to tag friends and places in posts and share external links from a web view. In addition, the app includes newly designed Profile and Group Wall pages. Plus, the Facebook app has improved the sharing tool to add privacy controls on posts and the ability to match those settings with those on the social networking website. Finally, the new update includes the following improvements and bug fixes:
  • Improved Notifications speed
  • Fixed a number of Chat bugs
  • Made it easier to select filters in News Feed
  • Fixed a bug with the Notifications bar disappearing
  • Fixed a number of Photos bugs
  • Improved performance and stability overall
Regrettably, the largest social network in the world is still bypassing Apple’s tablet despite the fact that an official iPad client has already been built and is hiding itself inside the iPhone version. The Facebook app is available now in the App Store.
