FireCore has released a major update to aTV Flash (black), its jailbreak software package that users can install on their second generation Apple TV. The package brings a number of features, and this latest update enhances the Media Player and adds a cloud backup option. The software update (beta 7) is currently available to download now.
As outlined by TiPb, the Media Player now features a music player, which allows users to stream music files from a computer without using iTunes. Information on streamed tracks will be downloaded from Last.fm automatically, which is a handy feature, and the music player also includes support for folders.
The cloud backup feature added in the latest version of aTV Flash (black) allows users to backup their third-party settings and data online, and restore if needed. Backups are linked with Apple TVs' serial numbers.
You can download aTV Flash (black) beta 7 by heading over to "Maintenance" and then "Manage Extras" on your Apple TV. For more information (including a full change log), head over to FireCore's website.
