Obliterate That Obstinate Monkey In Bananaz
Bananaz (Free) by yvette sardariani is a physics game in the same vein as Angry Birds, but without as much polish. You have a cannon which must be used to shoot a monkey hiding in various wooden towers.
Touch the cannon and pull your finger back in the direction opposite of where you want your cannon ball to fly. The longer you hold, the more the cannon’s power charges up and the faster the ball will shoot out. More power does not always mean more wins as the ball will often overshoot its target.
While waiting to die, the monkey will periodically throw out a banana which seems to have no real effect except maybe lowering your score along with the hundred shots it takes to kill him.
My main complaint with this game is aiming the cannon. Once I had fired off a shot or two and started to feel comfortable with the direction the ball needed to fly in to hit its target, it was very difficult to get the cannon back along that same trajectory. Putting a finger on the cannon and drawing back made it swing around wildly until my finger was behind its pivot point. Not helpful.
Bananaz is not going to be the next smash hit of iOS games, but it works well enough for a free game. And who knows, maybe an awkward game requiring many attempts on each level is what you enjoy.
