My Wonderful Wishes * Pocket Genie ($0.99) by haha Interactive is a productivity app designed specifically for the things you most wish for in life.
It’s not intended for the everyday or weekly tasks that seem to plague our lives, but more for those few things which are special to you.
Perusing the help pages will quickly show how the app works. The idea is that you create an entry with a short message such as “visit the Eiffel Tower,” “fly to the moon” or whatever you like, assign an importance by giving one to five stars and add the name of the person that wish belongs to.
Then, every time you think of that wish, you open up the app, select the wish in question and press the gold coin poking out on the bottom right. Over time, you will see which of your wishes you think about the most. If you want to take a look at a random wish, give your iDevice a little shake and one will be chosen for you.
Once a wish has been realized, select that wish, press the bottom middle button and choose finished. Your wish will be moved to a list of completed wishes that can be viewed at any time by pressing on the trophy icon. Unfortunately, there will be no trumpets sounding or fireworks display.
The wish list can be ordered by number of stars, number of coins or date added. But your choice is not saved.
The app has no real application and there’s the risk it will cause you to think too much about things you can never have. But so long as you choose to remind yourself of healthy obtainable goals, it’s a fun way to keep yourself upbeat about things you can look forward to such as an upcoming holiday.
