Movies By Flixster App Now Offers Streaming

October 10, 2011
The universal Movies by Flixster, with Rotten Tomatoes app, has received a nice update for those that purchase DVDs that include UltraViolet digital movie copies. Now you’re able to stream those movies directly from within the app over Wi-Fi. Streaming videos requires you login to the app and have at least one movie in your Flixster movie collection. For example, if you recently bought "Green Lantern" on Blu-ray, and redeemed the included UltraViolet Digital Copy on Flixster's website, "Green Lantern" is part of your Flixster movie collection. Streaming requires one of the following devices: iPhone 4, iPhone 4S, iPod Touch 3rd and 4th generation, or any iPad. In addition, Movies by Flixster Version 4.81 eliminates Netflix DVD queue management, due to a change in Netflix policy. However, Instant queue management is still supported. UltraViolet is not a “cloud storage” platform. Rather, it is simply a way some film studios choose to “unlock” digital entertainment. Studios using this process include: Sony Pictures Entertainment, NBCUniversal, Fox Entertainment Group, Paramount Motion Pictures Group, Warner Bros. Entertainment, and Lionsgate. The Movies by Flixster, with Rotten Tomatoes app is available now in the App Store.
