Bubble Shooter Pro ($0.99) by Hidden Sweet is an arcade puzzle game which has you shooting single bubbles up into a group of bubbles to make them disappear.
The group of bubbles at the top is composed of different colors. The bubble you’re given at the bottom will be one of those colors or, occasionally, made up of two colors. You shoot the bottom bubbles up by tapping where you want them to land. You don’t have to interact with the arrow at the bottom.
When bubbles of a color have been made in a group of at least three, they will disappear. The multi-colored bubbles can, of course, be used for groups of either color.
The bubbles may be descending depending on which mode you’re playing. When the bubbles reach the bottom of the screen, it’s game over.
There are four modes all essentially working the same way, but each gives a slightly different challenge and a different number of levels.
In Arcade mode, destroying bubbles will fill up a points bar along the top. When it’s full, you go up in level. In Whirl mode, the bubbles don’t sit at the top or slowly descend. Instead, they are positioned on a pivot in the center of the screen. Shooting a bubble onto that clump will make it spin around adding an extra dimension to the challenge.
Unfortunately, you need in-game coins for each play and there is a limited number. To obtain more, you will have to make an in-app purchase.
Bubble Shooter is not the most challenging puzzle game you’ll ever play, but there is something satisfying about popping all those bubbles. There is a free version available so you can see if it’s to your liking.
