Hakalympic (Free) by spicebox, inc. is a game that challenges you to guess the scale of a period of time, an angle, or a certain length. You can choose between a single event or playing in all three, one after the other.

In the Time event, you’ll be given a certain number of seconds you have to guess. When ready, tap the Start button, wait for however long you think it takes for the given time to pass and then tap the Stop button.

For the Angle event, you’re given the value of an angle. Holding your iPhone upright, tilt it to the left or right by an amount which you think is the right angle. After a short countdown, you’ll be shown what angle you actually had.

Then there is the Length event. The idea is similar; you’re presented with a certain length in centimeters that you must then trace out in a line by running your finger along on the screen. The line doesn’t have to be straight, it’s the total length that’s measured.

For each event, you have three attempts at a different value each time. You’re then given a score on your accuracy in the form of a percentage and you’re shown where you stand in the world rankings.

Before even starting any of this, however, you have to choose your country from a very long non-alphabetical list. An arduous task I did not appreciate.

Hakalympic is a moderately entertaining game, which I can’t imagine will hold anyone’s attention for too long. It’s a good thing it’s free.
