Crouch, Dive And Fly Across Colorful Slopes In Ski On Neon
Ski On Neon ($0.99) by Esoteric Development is an arcade game that has you skiing along brightly lit neon slopes of various colors in different modes of play.
There’s really just one thing required of you: crouch at the right time.
By pressing on the screen, you’ll make your little skier crouch down. Crouching on a down slope speeds you up; crouching on an up slope slows you down very quickly.
To take a slope perfectly means launching yourself in the air and then immediately crouching down into the next slope to launch yourself even higher into the air. Every time you jump a hill perfectly, you receive a quarter circle in the middle of the screen. After four perfect jumps, and a complete circle, you are given a huge speed burst and briefly turn into a bright shining ball of light.
There is also the extra challenge of having the finishing portal at a height above the ground. To complete that level, you will have to make sure you are airborne off of the last slopes.
You currently have three modes of play available. High Flyer requires the total height achieved from all jumps to reach a certain minimum goal. Speed Trials speaks for itself. And finally, Tech Slopes can have a mixture of goals, on the most challenging slopes, including a time trial and or minimum total height.
There is also the promise of multiplayer support in the future.
The game is pleasantly challenging and tremendous fun when you get your timing on the slopes right.
