TomTom's iOS Navigation App Gets An Update - Now Optimized For The iPad

The popular TomTom navigation app has recently received an update, adding native iPad support along with the latest, most up-to-date maps and an improved interface. The USA version of the app can be downloaded for $49.99, while the U.S. and Canada version is available in the App Store for $59.99.
As outlined in the app's release notes, changes made in the latest version (1.9) include:
It's great that the TomTom app is universal, namely because owners of the iPhone application will be able to redownload the app on their iPad free of charge. And while the iPad might be a little to large to mount to your car's dashboard, the updated application does take advantage of the tablet's screen real estate in a fantastic way. Don't forget, if you're rocking the Wi-Fi only iPad (like me), the iPhone's Personal Hotspot feature can give the tablet GPS capabilities. New maps mean you'll never miss a turn-off, and the improved interface is much better. I've been using the TomTom iPhone app for the past few weeks now, and though it is expensive, it really is a brilliant navigation app and worth every penny. As mentioned, TomTom can be downloaded in the App Store from $49.99. Though if you already own the app, the updated app can be downloaded for free.
