Avoid Going Splat As You Jump From One Tooth To Another In Avoid-A-Ball
Avoid-a-ball ($0.99) by Mind Splat Design is an arcade game where you are in control of an eyeball inside a gaping mouth. You bounce back and forth from one tooth to another and must avoid the black balls zooming around you.
You can only move from a tooth on one side to a tooth on the other side. To do so, tap the tooth you want to move to. Each time you move across the mouth, you gain a point.
After a few moves, a black ball will appear that will endlessly move around the mouth. You can get away with colliding with it twice, but the third time means game over.
After a few more moves, stars will start appearing on the teeth. Collect three of them and you will be transformed into a much larger eye, which can no longer be hurt by the black balls.
In fact, you should chase after them as much as possible before returning to your normal size. Colliding with a black ball, when you’re large, will earn you 10 points.
As you get further into the game, there will be more black balls to deal with. This is true for both being normal size and having the stars.
When you return to normal, stars immediately start appearing again so you can constantly get the power-up.
There’s not quite as much depth as there could be. For example, there could be different levels with various arrangements of teeth, additional power-ups, and the ability to save high scores under specific names.
Nevertheless, Avoid-a-ball offers an entertaining and quirky game that is easy to pick up and enjoy.
