Reverse Roles And Invade A Planet As You Fight Against Defending Spaceships In Planet Attack
Planet Attack (Free) by katsuhiko kaneko brings a new twist to a familiar arcade game.
We’re all acquainted with the old arcade game, Space Invaders, where there is a small spaceship at the bottom of the screen. Rows of alien enemies march across the top and inch ever closer as they get to the edge of the screen.
In this game, the roles are reversed. You’re in control of the old enemy, still marching across, but now from the bottom and occasionally stepping upwards, while the small spaceship is sitting behind some barriers at the top of the screen shooting down at you.
By tapping any of your aliens, you can shoot some lasers up at the spaceship which, in later levels, will be joined by some of his friends.
The game is made more challenging by those spaceships hiding behind their two barriers, but those barriers can eventually be worn down if you shoot at them enough.
As you level up, your alien friends are not replenished. This is a game of survival.
Planet Attack seems a good idea at first and is initially fun. However, the lack of any real control, except to furiously tap a row of aliens, makes the game far less engaging than others of its kind.
You may get bored of it quickly, but it’s free so you have nothing to lose by giving it a try.
