Writing Kit Gets Updated To Version 2.1 And Goes On Sale, Plus A Chance To Win!
Earlier this year, I reviewed an excellent text editor for the iPad that gave writers a better way to do research and write at the same time. The app has been updated to make it better than ever.
The main gist of Writing Kit that made it stand out above the rest was the fact that there was an in-app browser that allowed you to browse the web (for research purposes) while writing your article, essay, or your next novel. Additionally, there is a Quick Research function that allows you to quickly look up keywords, if you don’t necessarily need a full webpage.
For those writers that use John Gruber’s Markdown Syntax, Writing Kit fully supports Markdown, and even includes a modified keyboard row that adds quick access to common Markdown tags. Writing becomes simplified when everything is within your finger’s reach.
With the 2.x versions, Writing Kit became a universal app for all users, so you can have all of the app’s powerful features on both your iPad and iPhone. There is also full integration with the excellent reference app, Terminology, and you can even create tasks in Things and The Hit List, whereas it was only OmniFocus before.
The 2.1 update also removed the app’s 17+ rating (due to the in-app browser), so now it’s available for all students as a great reference and writing tool. The keyboard is also smaller in landscape mode in order to fit more text on the screen.
The best part about the latest update to the app is the new sale price! Writing Kit will be available for 60 percent off from the previous price of $4.99, making it $1.99 until November 27! If you haven’t picked this app up already, it would make a great app for turning your iPhone or iPad into a serious writing tool.
