Cardshark Brain features four calculators:
• Hand Strength provides players with initial winning odds against up to nine other opponents. The number of opponents is especially significant because odds decrease notably as player amount increases. Besides those figures, Hand Strength displays both the next weaker and next stronger starting hands.
• The Odds Calculator is where you can analyze the percentage of winning the game more accurately by entering each opponent's hand, the flop, plus the third and fourth card values from a previous game. This calculator is another great way to show where you stood amongst the other players and could also be used in understanding an opponent's style.
• The Expected Value Calculator is strictly focused on the money portion of the game. Basically, this calculator allows you to logically determine the likely gain or loss associated with the assumed moves of all players. This calculator has all of the bases covered by allowing you to enter specific hand, chip, blinds, ante, and board card values.
• The Post Flop Analysis is a way to determine and even increase your odds of success against one specific opponent by displaying better and worse hands than yours, hands consisting of a better flush, and hands that would create a straight. Although, I think, the coolest part is the Community Card Heat Map. It's a color-coded grid of the remainder of the deck that will show you, highlighted in green, which cards to look for on the next turn to be able to beat that particular opponent.
Even though Cardshark Brain is able to manipulate so much data, the app is very fast and easy to use. The four calculators are accessible via the main menu and entering variables requires only a few quick taps, either on the playing cards or using the "+" buttons.
Cardshark Brain is a universal app compatible with iPad, iPhone, and iPod touch running iOS 4.2 or later, and requires an active Internet connection. In order to provide results in a matter of seconds, Cardshark Brain offloads the actual processing duty to remote servers with each request using only a very small amount of data, less than a tenth of the average text-only email.
