Apple Updates Apple TVs In UK, Australia, Canada: Adds TV Streaming, Downloads

December 8, 2011
Finally, Apple has added support for TV streaming and show downloading on Apple TVs in Australia, Canada and the United Kingdom. Though the feature launched in America back in August, Apple has taken a while to gift the over-the-air update to international Apple TV owners. The update appeared yesterday, and as of this moment Apple hasn't publicly announced it. The news first reached us via 9to5Mac, who stated that:
Apple appears to have sent an over-the-air update to Apple TV boxes in Canada, and TV show downloading is now available.
It was soon noted that Apple TVs in Australia and the UK received a similar update. This means that Apple fans in the aforementioned countries can now download full episodes on their Apple TV, as opposed to just renting single episodes. Furthermore, it's also possible to stream TV purchases (via iCloud) to Apple TVs equipped with this important over-the-air software update. Let us know if the update has appeared on your Apple TV in the comments.
