A new jailbreak tweak called "iPod 720p HD Camera" promises to improve the iPod touch's built-in camera, apparently enabling the iOS device to take images at a resolution of 1280×960. If you own a camera-equipped iPod touch, you'll undoubtedly be aware that the iPod's camera isn't anything special. In fact, it's pretty bad: while the iPhone 4S has the capacity to shoot still images of eight megapixels, the iPod touch can manage just 0.6 megapixels. The quality of these images, as you might expect, is poor. However, Redmond Pie has drawn our attention to a potential solution. While iPod 720p HD Camera probably doesn't have the capacity to radically, dramatically improve your iPod's camera, it does promise to improve the quality of still images, and also adds a number of useful features. These include the ability to take pictures and even switch cameras while recording video. If you've got a jailbroken iPod touch, download the tweak and let us know if you notice a difference in the comments.
