Microsoft has recently launched a SkyDrive iPhone application in Apple's App Store. The app allows users to access their SkyDrive account on-the-go, from an iPhone or iPod touch, and is available to download for free.
As outlined in the application's release notes:
SkyDrive from Microsoft is the place to store your files so you can access them from virtually any device. With SkyDrive for the iPhone, you can now easily access, manage and share files on the go. You can also upload photos or videos from your iPhone to SkyDrive.Features of the app include:
If you use Hotmail, Messenger or XBOX Live then you'll already have a SkyDrive account. The cloud-based storage service is indeed a lot like Dropbox (which we love). However, unlike Dropbox, SkyDrive offers users 25 gigabytes of free storage - Dropbox only offers two gigabytes for free. You can download SkyDrive in the App Store for free. As mentioned, it's natively compatible with the iPhone and iPod touch.
- Access all of your SkyDrive content including files shared with you
- View recently used documents
- Upload photos or videos from your phone
- Share a link to any file using email
- Create folders. Delete files or folders
