Hurry Along From One Corridor To Another In MagMaze
MagMaze (Free) by Fountain Labs is an arcade game that has you navigating mazes to accomplish many different objectives. You'll be running, chasing, and exploring your way around hundreds of levels.
The maps can be quite large and the entire map is displayed at all times. You might think that would make the detail too small, but that's not the case.
A large magnifying glass is placed over your location on the maze, which increases the view of your immediate vicinity. In this way, you get an overview, but not so much information that the game is no longer challenging.
There are five modes of gameplay. In The Chase, you have to collect all the flowers on the map, while avoiding contact with the bad little critters trying to find you. As you move around, you leave behind a trail of footprints. They will eventually fade, but if one of those critters finds them before they have a chance to fade, they will use your prints to track you down. This applies to all levels that have critters to avoid.
Other modes of play include changing the color of the maze floor by walking over each part, chasing down bugs to squash them, and trying to find the exit.
That last mode, called Get Out, does not show every path in the maze like the other modes do. Instead, you have to discover the paths on your own along with all their dead ends as you try to find the way out as quickly as possible.
MagMaze is a Pac-Man type game, but with more modes of play and levels. Each of those levels has a different shape and size, which gives this game high replay value.
The limited view of the playing field can be annoying sometimes, but if you enjoy maze games, this one is worth considering. Plus, this game is now free for a limited time only.
